Senator Angela Paxton elected Chair of the Senate Republican Caucus

Senator Angela Paxton has been elected the new Chair of the Senate Republican Caucus.

On Monday, the Senate Republican Caucus elected their officer positions for this cycle. Upon the retirement of the previous chair, Senator Larry Taylor, there was an opening in the position.

"I am honored to accept the chair position for the Senate Republican Caucus," said Senator Angela Paxton. "I would like to thank my fellow Republican Senators for entrusting me with this position."

"My goal as the chair is to advance our conservative priorities in a unified way that serves all Texans. I look forward to working with my fellow Republicans in both chambers this session."

The new Vice Chair of the Senate Republican Caucus is Senator Bryan Hughes, the Second Vice Chair is Senator Tan Parker, and the Treasurer is Senator Drew Springer. 

The mission of the Senate Republican Caucus is to promote the wellbeing of the State of Texas and its people, propagate the principles of the Republican Party of Texas, provide leadership and serve as a voice for the Republican members of the Texas Senate, and provide effective communication and research support to its members.
